Most importantly, I want everybody to leave with an overwhelming sense of excitement for the positive changes that are within their reach as innovation doesn’t hinge solely on budget” – Kevin Hennah

Latest Workshop/2017 Launch

“Change is inevitable. Maintaining relevance is a matter of choice”

Kevin Hennah believes library staff must drive informed change before ill-informed changes are imposed on them. That it is critical to develop a future plan – a vision of how the space, technology and collection will evolve in order to obtain funding and support.

“It’s near impossible for libraries to generate adequate financial support if they don’t have a vision to sell”

While it is easy to generate a long list of what we would like, it probably will not come to fruition unless we develop a strategically planned and budgeted vision. This must include technology, seating, marketing & promotion, signage and critically, innovative visual merchandising must replace the culture of housing the physical collection.

VISION 2020, Kevin Hennah’s fourth library-specific workshop is designed to help library staff develop plans to achieve this goal – spaces that are vibrant, agile and relevant to their customer base.

Showcasing realistically achievable innovation and challenging traditional ideas, VISION 2020 will fuse highly practical advice with hundreds of photographs of Kevin’s recent international projects in both public libraries and education. Be inspired by ideas on:

– Maintaining a relevant print offering
– Genre-based layout initiatives that are proven to significantly increase usage stats
– Integration of technology
– Contemporary seating solutions and learning spaces in libraries
– Creating future-focused educational libraries that have a viable point of difference (where applicable)

– Innovation in library-specific signage
– Contemporary, library-specific promotional strategies
